With help from Rastrick Big Local (visit Rastrick Big Local), we have brought our second defibrillator online!

This second defibrillator is located directly on our playing fields next to the park, easily accessible to the families who use our open space, our dog walking community, and of course our football users.

Martin Ford, chair of RJFC said: “We are delighted to bring another life saving defibrillator online in our local community.  With the junior school, childrens park, cemetary and tennis club all close by, our location is frequently accessed by many.  Having these devices nearby can help save a life.  If we can help just one person, then it is worth it.”

Our first defibrillator on Carr Green Lane, endorsed by Fabrice Muamba back in 2014, will stay online in its current location and will continue to be maintained by Rastrick Junior FC.  Being close to the main road, it serves the local community and the ambulance service very well, having been called into action multiple times during its 9 years of service.

This life-saving equipment delivers a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest.  To help someone who is in cardiac arrest effectively, a defibrillator needs to be found as quickly as possible. For every minute it takes for the defibrillator to reach someone and deliver a shock, their chances of survival reduce by up to 10%.

Both of our defibrillators are publicly accessible, but YOU MUST CALL 999 to access them.
